This is an incredibly sad, but true, news story out of Mexico. Recently, a 10-year-old girl gave birth to a baby boy after a life-threatening 31-week pregnancy. The unnamed girl had a C-section on October 22 in Puebla, Mexico and gave birth to a 3.3 pound child.
Sadly, this isn't the first case of this nature. Last year, an 11-year-old gave birth to a child two weeks prematurely after having been raped by her step-father.
An investigation is now underway in Mexico to determine if the 10-year-old girl was raped. The age of consent in the state is 12 years old.
12 years old! That's insanity! Our hearts go out to this young child and her family.
