Oh snaps.

Welcome to the internets. Where most of you spend countless hours during the week. We get paid to sit in front of the computer and pretend to do work, but really, we're finding out what Lindsay Lohan had for breakfast and googling awkward pictures of cats. Here's a toast (a blog toast because drinking is NOT allowed during work...) to all of you 40 hours a week craftsmen. Because let's be honest, we are all craftsmen. Do you know how hard it is to quickly exit a facebook browser?

LA Weekly Web Awards

Last Thursday, Mercado and I attended the LA Weekly Web Awards party at Bardot in Hollywood. The Web Awards party was a gathering of people from all over the interwebs mingling, drinking and eating. The bar was open and the hors d'oeuvres were delicious. Have you ever had bacon wrapped dates? They're a treat from a God himself.

The party was a lot of fun and the venue, Bardot, was sophisticated and classy, with a spicy edge and a decent sized dance floor. And the bartenders made me delicious drinks from the open bar all night. The mix of people was as eccentric as it gets- inevitably making for some interesting conversation. There was even a guy dressed in a banana suit. We spent some time talking to James St. James and Thairin Smothers from The WOW Report, who took home the award for Best Counterculture Blog. We also spent some time talking to the founders of comedy site The Chive. Fun fact-The Chive has now surpassed College Humor as a top comedy site on the net. I was convinced that this site was internet gold when I saw this video they posted.

LA Weekly stated that, "No party is complete without steampunkers, sex columnists, gay icons and local politicos all mingling together." And that's exactly what it was....one helluva par-tay.

We talk to this guy somewhere around the 5:00 minute mark.
