Oh snaps.

Welcome to the internets. Where most of you spend countless hours during the week. We get paid to sit in front of the computer and pretend to do work, but really, we're finding out what Lindsay Lohan had for breakfast and googling awkward pictures of cats. Here's a toast (a blog toast because drinking is NOT allowed during work...) to all of you 40 hours a week craftsmen. Because let's be honest, we are all craftsmen. Do you know how hard it is to quickly exit a facebook browser?

Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris

I don't claim to be any sort of movie critic, but last night Daniel and I saw Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and it was so fantastic I had to share my experience and encourage everyone to bite the bullet and pay the $15 dollars to go see this movie.

Anything Woody Allen makes has an authenticity about it that exudes class and wit. I've always been a fan of his writing and directing and cite Annie Hall and Vicky Cristina Barcelona as some of my favorite movies. Midnight in Paris is no exception.

The story follows Gil (Owen Wilson), a successful Hollywood screenplay writer/aspiring novelist, and his fiancée Inez (Rachel McAdams) as they accompany her parents on a trip to Paris. What ensues is a story of nostalgia, passion and a terrific bout of insanity that only Woody Allen could produce.

A deep and lovely affection for the city of Paris radiates throughout and makes you want to walk the cobblestone streets next to Owen Wilson as he journeys through time, swaying to Cole Porter and drinking copious amounts of champagne and red wine. I've never had a strong inclination towards Wilson, but after this role, I truly appreciate his talent.

What develops is a tale you would have never guessed. Allen presents a light and fun yet eloquent narrative with an impressive cast including Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Michael Sheen as well as Wilson and McAdams.

Here's what I think-go see Midnight in Paris. You will thank me later.
